the liquidity is incredible, can imagine theres a lot of sharp movements for wickets etc, especially T20.

does/has anyone trade the cricket?

also, anybody know the inplay delay?

thanks

Megarain is a prolific cricket trader and the best one to offer advice on it, what i do know is the T20's are the best type of matches to trade

I've just started to take a look at Cricket and have an interest in the 2 tests at the moment and have found the liquidity good. I have managed to get a small green on Ind v Aust and a better green on NZ v SA trading on the uncertainty of the weather.

I would imagine T20 is quite volatile and I'll be looking and learning at the IPL next week and maybe have an interest at minimum stakes.

I'm in my first year trading and have had better results with a couple of football strategies than I have with horse racing, so looking at Cricket for the summer when it's the close season in football. I'll come back to horse racing after a break.

In the meantime I'm stat collecting a lot of T20 information (and there is a lot of information) such as high/low scores, power play scores, runs per over, scores at different grounds etc, etc.... I'd only want to trade bigger stakes when I'm more informed.

Always looking for good advice so if Megarain can offer up some pearls that would be great!

Well ....

I am a courtsider, in that I want to make markets, and need real time info to do so.

There are apps/facetime feeds, which are better than TV/Cable etc, but, I want to watch other stuff.

Like horse-racing, a 5f dash, has v different dynamics to a 4 mile slogathon.

T20 is crack cocaine of cricket .. its ok, but, in my old age, prefer more sedately moving specimens .. like test ckt.

There are many strats u can look at .. cruchyfrog on twitter, has a table, displaying ROI on lots of back to lay strats. I cant post pics from here,
follow link.

https://twitter.com/FrogCrunchy

There are many dynamics at play in Bf mkts. I cant mention them, in an open forum, but, u need to spend time watching.

Data from these mkts would be v useful .. and we are led to believe Bf will be releasing a new data tool .. soon .. maybe .. one-day .., and it
would be probably worth looking at certain data points, which are good/bad entries for trades.

The liquidity on cricket has steadily been rising over the last 3 yrs .. there are many reasons for this, but, mainly its loved by the Indians, who,
want to bet on a sport they love.

Its like anything, anyone on here will tell u .. watch enough of the same patterns, and u will find an edge. The trick, is not getting bored in the interim, and flattening it on other stuff.

To answer your question :

The in-play delay for cricket is 5 secs.

The Tv delay for pics in India, is 11 secs.

There are apps, (search Ground Feed/twitter) .. which have faster feeds. I have no affiliation/havent used/have no idea if they are riddled with viruses etc etc

Certain counties do not allow courtsiders. You need for find out for yourself, which ones are ok. If u plan a long trip, send an email to ICC anti-corruption .. they will tell u.

Check ticket regs. The ICC cricket tourny in the UK, specifically prohibits betting in stadia .. and u will be chucked out, if u look like u are betting. Their survilance is v good.

Good point. I initially picked the wrong move in the current NZ v SA test but was able to turn red into green in the subsequent days. Less chance of that happening in T20.

Edit: Maybe true in some one sided games but I'd imagine the markets flip many times in close T20 games.

Thanks for your replies, megarain!

I've already thought of a few strategies but data to confirm their longevity would be very helpful. I was looking at downloading a screen recorder for a spare laptop i have, running bet angel and live text commentary to see the effect of certain events then letting her run, playing it back and manually collecting the data. (this way i can skip to the good bits and not sit indoors looking a screen all day)

Where do you courtside, UK or abroad?

Having read your previous posts it appears you're using the VPS, does this consume a lot of mobile data or do you use Wifi etc?

Thanks.

You can go back, a laptop user is allowed at Headingley . unless its a ICC regulated event.

I trade in 3 countries (mainly), where its hot. I dont like the cold.

4g/5g makes data transmission less of an issue. But, its taken a long time, to get my set-up right. Go to a game, and see how fast the mkt reacts to events .. sniping is largely a thing of the past // so, u find other ways.

All I know is I sent a mate to Essex to relay information back via mobile....... He was pouncened upon by guys in suits.......I told him to ask them is it illegel?? they said no but it is frowned upon on.....too check terms and conditions and escorted him out the ground.

Would have thought its the same for every county ground.
