The five test Ashes series begins next Thursday at Edgbaston, with the series then going to Lords, Headingley, Old Trafford and the Oval through to the end of September.

Australia haven’t won an away Ashes series since 2001 and start at Edgbaston where they haven’t won in any format since 2001 also, and only won 5 of their last 17 away tests. 8 of the 9 Ashes series have been won by the home side.

It's hard to see a series draw unless weather becomes a major factor.

Mouth watering opportunities await, a 5 match test series between 2 sides with no gulf between them. sports trading at its finest.

I'm extremely excited about both the cricket and the trading opportunities.

Good luck to everyone!

First test tomorrow.
Weather looks ok. Warm with the chance of a thunder shower in the afternoon.

England gone odds on

Australia won the toss and choose to Bat.

Eng: 2.12
Aus: 2.46
Draw: 8

My inclination was that both sides would struggle with the bat

As expected the batting is not going great

I would be in favour of laying England when they get to Bat also

Aussies might be slight favourites for this now, England have to bat last on it and no Jimmy means dismissing them in the second innings will be hard.

Not his greatest fan (like most) but great knock by Smith... will be interesting to see how the top order cope for England

Seems like the value bet to me, although betting on Aus would take out the draw so give more value, either way it is where the value is at the moment. From an England perspective they must be hoping for some poor bowling from the Aussies.

There's three greats: Smith, Warner and Root. But beyond them and Bairstow - the batting line-ups are appalling.

The Aussies have had no luck today.

Shame. ;)
