Poor Emmson

In Affectionate Remembrance
of
ENGLISH CRICKET,
which died at the Oval (and again at the MCG)
on
29 August 1882 (and again on 28 December 2021),
Deeply lamented by a large circle of sorrowing
friends and acquaintances

R.I.P.

N.B.—The body will be cremated and the
ashes taken to Australia.

P.S. - The ashes will now remain in Australia

England's fast bowling is pretty decent. Spinner thing is a shambles, like Australia's probably will be post Lyon.

One of the more incredible stats is that Root is yet to score a century in Australia in 23 innings. He has 9 50s and averages 39 ! So it's not as if he struggles. Just stop dabbling outside off stump Joe! Why he does it I have no idea. Eventually you'll edge off in Australia doing that.

You could tell that most of the players were not really up for it.

And lets be frank, players prefer T20 or one day cricket, less strain and much more money to be gained.

I doubt test match cricket will be around in 5 years time.

Add in the covid going through the support team as well.

Agree with T20 and limited over cricket being more of a spectacle, and more money on offer. Reckon test cricket will still be around as long as the TV companies stump up the money for coverage.

Looks like someone went dutching 1st 5 runners in each for a 15% to 30% return - not a lot of money involved though..
