but that was deliberate policy from the board, they knew if numbers dwindled they could close the place and sell it off to a building developer and put a nice big profit through the books without any work. its been a very cynical and deliberate policy of asset stripping the sport

Absolutely agree, it was a big old piece of land with that massive car park and worth a fortune, they owned ithe old Plough Lane ground next door too.

.... I miss Cardino, at least his one-race PLs came with an attempt at some sort of entertainment.

same with the 'stow (which was probably my favourite track). Looks like they'll do the same with central park; run it into the ground and then be 'forced' to sell the land.
