Not really looked at the dogs before so having a look but confused by the different race types in the BF event description as shown in BA.

Googling their race codes doesn't turn up much to explain them and many of the answers seem to conflict with each other.

The best guesses I've come up with so far are ...

Race types with grade quality number following:
A 1-11 middle distance 450m - 550m
B 1-8 ?
D 1-5 sprint < 300m
S 1-8 stayers 600m -700m
E 1-3 marathon 800m+
H 1-3 hurdles
P 1-9 puppy < 24mths

Two-letter race types
HC handicap
HP ?
OR open race

Would welcome any corrections or more details if you know them

Thanks Shaun - makes more sense now ie what I saw called a marathon is two laps round the track and it also explains corresponding varying distances due to different track sizes :)
