its been bonkers all round... No idea what too expect on a daily basis...

Just can't get my head around how good Podacar is...

And Cavendish last stage win was a masterclass - made it look so easy.
Only just seen that stage highlights this morning but that was a masterclass in how to use a lead out train.
They had that technical finish under full control that last KM

I watched it live but refrained from blurting the result on this thread, cos people might like to watch the highlights without knowing the result. Although these days not stumbling across the result is far more difficult than it was for The Likely Lads. (Oops showed me age again :-))

It was great and another example of how elite athletes these days can remain competitive far longer.
But as you say - textbook lead out.
Wonder if the rolling village that is the Tour will allow the Manx Missile to equal Eddy Merckx's record of 34 stage wins.

Crikey! 30C in Paris. How do these guys do it?
Best chance for Cav to make history.
Very little compeition sprint-wise and a proven lead-out team.
Blimey, just checked the odds, he's 1.54 to win the stage!

Was a real shame to come so close and still miss out.
No doubt he will be back next year and is almost certain to get that one required stage win but would have been much nicer to have done it in Paris though

Couldn't believe it was 2012 since he last won there, I always had it in my head it was around 2016/17
Nine years (and the year London held the Olympics) seems sooooo long ago now, I just didn't think his last win there was that far back back

Not sure if anyone seen it but I was watching the track cycling live yesterday morning and there was a crash which catapulted Matt Walls over the barriers into the crowd, thankfully he the other riders involved and spectators caught up in it were all OK and no serious injuries

But it does bring back the question of track cycling place in its current form at the Commonwealth considering it allows for riders of such varying levels of experience to be wizzing around the same enclosed space often just centimetres apart at speeds up to 70kmh

Very true Dallas, it's F1 with a few learners.

Btw do you know why they didn't use an electric derny in the keirin?

Not sure tbh, It surprised me when I first saw it and I did have a quick look but couldn't find anything about it at the time

Worst possible start and horrible luck for Thomas to effectively lost his chance of gold on 3rd or 4th corner

Still got a bronze at least and the time was good enough for Gold had the crash been avoided
