Monaco is unique and has little bearing on the Championship. Pretty damn cool though. I remember Senna and Mansell excelling in the rain, so rain mght be a good call for someone to show their ability.

It could have massive bearing on the championship. If Verstappen was to win and Hamilton didn't get on the podium that would close up the championship nicely.

Max needs to make the most of this supposed rear wing advantage in this race and at the next in Baku (two tracks that Mercedes say Red Bull and Ferrari should get maximum benefit of the wing) before the FIA probably ban it when after they conduct tests next month.

Fair point. Particularly with LeClerc's situation now. I wouldn't expect Max to make a mistake. But then I used to feel that about Vettel. If nothing else, Monaco offers spectacular TV (if you're a petrolhead). The swimming pool is one of my favourites. Insane speed and direction change. Eye of a needle stuff.

Way back. I was shocked by my local mechanic (great little garage) telling me he went to the Monaco GP every year. Evidence that a competent garage in the right place is a real goldmine
And worse still he was tall, blonde, athletic and handsome. Git!

I've always said if were to attend one I would have to be at Monaco

I've got friends who've attended every one at Silverstone for as many years as I can remember but its never appealed to me

There is a local service here that will fly you in your own jet to Monaco. Or we can piggyback somebody else's.

Went in the 90's as a young backpacker..so not exactly luxurious but unforgettable nonetheless Awesome experience

Was a great race with Max gaining the title lead over Lewis. So happy!

I was fortunate enough to have visited Monaco many times (along with Nice, St.Tropez, Cannes, and elsewhere when I was working as Tours Officer for a cruise line.

One of our shore excursions was a walking tour of the 'track', followed by a cafe de paris visit and trip to the casino square and the small, but beautiful park there. We then went to Eze and Roquebrunne to see the cactus gardens and it was just lovely. It was a tender-boat job from the ship rather than berthing, due to the small harbour and I'll always remember the little parcel of lavender the local authorities gave each passenger disembarking the tenders.

I also recollect wanting a memento of the F1 and paying 70 francs (almost a tenner!) for a plastic moulded ferrari with stickers on it, lol! Oh the heady days of pre-Euro.

Anyways, enough rambling from me. I'm up for a forum visit, as suggested by Peter.

Negotiated the original Concorde Agreement so pretty much the architect of modern F1 along with Bernie.

F1 loses another link to an age where you needed serious balls to drive a Formula 1 racing car.

5 laps from the end I was putting my lay orders in on Max for the Championship with the logic that after this race any advantage Red Bull may have been getting from their rear wing will be gone before the next race so advantage Hamilton then bedlam!

That's two big mistakes from Hamilton already this season, maybe the pressure of having a genuine challenger this year.

Bit puzzled about the walls on the starting straight. If Jos's right rear had gone, he would have veared left and hit a wall head-on at 200mph. Looked like an easy fix to create a smooth flow, rather than an ugly smash.
