Just have to break it into manageable chunks, I wouldn't have a clue how to do a power query.

*HINT* - most of the race sites have a *private* api that isn't exposed but is easily discoverable. why battle with scraping from html (classnames/id's etc) when you can just load up an object from json and party on that! ;)
Have you considered decompiling their android apps to get the API addresses, Jim? I'm sure both sporting life and racing post etc would have andorid apps

SB -it's ok, i've got the required end points for all of the more bread 'n butter stuff. and yes, using tools such as fiddler can be useful, especially if you spoof the browser header to make it appear as if it's a mobile device ;)

Now i know what those letters and numbers mean.

U.K. - Top Grade - (A1 - A3) equilavent to American greyhound grades (A, B) and Australian grades (1, 2). Some 'top graders' may also compete in major race events and can average speeds around a track between 38-39 mph.

U.K. - Middle Grade - (A4 - A6) equilavent to American grades (C, D) and Australian grades (3, 3/4, 4). Occasionally 'graded runners' competing at the very best "city tracks" maybe the equal of 'A1' graded dogs running at perhaps lesser tracks. These hounds average speeds between 37-38 miles per hour.

U.K. - Low Grade - (A7 - A11) equilavent to American grades (E, F and Maidens) and Aussie grades (4/5, 5 and Maidens). Most dogs will begin or finish their racing careers in the lower grades and generally record speeds between 35-37 mph.

U.K. - B Grade - (B1 - B6) This grade prefix usually indicates to either a slightly shorter or longer middle-distance.

As for the OR classification, that means "open race" meaning it is the highest level of racing in the UK. This does not mean that it is open to any participant.
What are Ds then? 1st race in Blighty tomorrow 10.46 Central Park morn is a D5

EDIT

Some quick googling tells me its D for Dash/Dog sprints but the quality is uncertain though being off at 10.46 my guesstimate would be slow.

"Each greyhound is registered to a track, and if it races at that “home” track against an entire field of other dogs registered to that same track, then the race will be graded with a number (A1-8)."

I only discovered this tonight ;)

A notable moment for me, an entry based on reading past form and comments on dog form sites, maybe this is a new avenue....or it could also be a false dawn.

That nipply lil sod absolutely cruised in Waikiki Magic, maybe studying form really is a new avenue. Hitherto I have been totally cold trading for dribs and drabs.
