Plenty of forum members have mentioned their poker interest. This market might be interesting for them with Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk facing each other following many years of trading insults and goading between them and a heads up challenge that has warranted a Betfair market. The match is for a minimum of 12500 hands with an option for the loser to extend to 25000 hands at $200/$400 HUNL. Typically played in 2 hour sessions that have so far been very convenient for UK watchers at 10:30 GMT.
Polk has been and continues to be the consisent odds on favorite in this market despite a losing first session and heavy losses in the fourth and fifth sessions that currently sees Negreanu ahead overall by $26k after 1700 or so hands played having turned around a Polk lead of $268k after three sessions.

Current odds 5.7/5.8 Negeanu 1.19/1.21 Polk
Thanks Jukebox - had no idea it was on )

Was plenty of that in the preceding months/years, when they finally sat down, they were as nice as pie to each other!

even given the variance of 25k sample I'm a bit surprised at price movements. I would have made Doug a 15bb favourite to start

3422 hands and 8 sessions in and Negreanu can still be backed at 5.1 in spite of Negreanu's current lead of 179k representing a swing to Negreanu of 447k from Polk's high of session three.
Mrs Negreanu (Amanda Leatherman) will be sitting in on the GGPoker live coverage tonight in what is expected to be a long session. Starts 10:30 GMT

Polk must have been running badly under EV?

Quite the opposite - DN has been shown to be 3 buy ins (@40keach) or so behind on all-in EV (we don't see hands except at showdown). DP had a good session tonight and has overturned the deficit plus 24k or so.

not watching the allinev so closely, but dnegs is getting absolutely run over in some relatively simple spots and if anything I think polk is actually improving at a faster rate than dneg.

if anything the 1.08 offered for polk now is probably better value than the 1.25 offered at the start of the challenge. he is up 600k, true there are still a lot of hands and variance left to play but his play has been a different class.

what a rant. for someone who is usually pretty situationally aware he seems pretty blind to the skill level for the HUNL specialist Polk, maybe the rant is to make it easier for fans just to chalk it down to bad luck. I know dnegs has run bad in a few spots, but he's also been absolutely run over and outclassed in others.
