I had a serious issue on a tennis match with “Add market’s betting delay” ticked. Before Betfair had registered the first bet, countless others had been placed, causing a huge number to be matched at once leaving a crazy open position in the market. That position was eventually closed once all the bets were registered. I have now unticked this option because the potential risk is simply too high. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Was this connected to the partial API outage yesterday? If so, then this once happened to me too.lotora wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 12:32 amI had a serious issue on a tennis match with “Add market’s betting delay” ticked. The problem occurred when, like yesterday's brief outage, only the data part of the API went down but it was still accepting trade commands. If by freak coincidence this happens at exactly the same time as market conditions cause your automation to trigger a trade, then Bet Angel might not register the trade has landed, and potentially will repeat the same instruction as many times are your trigger and condition rules allow.
There are ways to protect yourself against such a freak occurrence. I think I ended up using something that monitored market size and blocked all further trades if the market size remained static after my bet should have matched.
