From what I can see Gamstop covers just about every operator Entain, Flutter, 365 etc and there are all taking part in the trial.

I have absolutely no doubt it'll be abused by operators to weed out winners even more so if your banned or restricted by 365 for example you can bet your bottom dollar you'll be banned/restricted by them all very soon.

The beginning of the end by the looks of it the game appears to be up
I've been barred from every bookie including Bet365 and Paddy Power, but I can't see how they can push the button if you haven't bet with them for several years and your account was in profit. Surely they have to put forward some figures. Betfair, which is owned by PP won't want winners banned and loss of income could be high enough for several legal actions.
They can do more or less what they want now with access to everyone's accounts across all operators. To think that they'll only share data if your signed up to Gamstop is slightly niave IMO. Operators have behaved with impunity for years and now they have been given the golden ticket.

Problem is going forward you can't ban/restrict people from sportsbooks and say it's fine to carry on betting on an exchange. Gamstop won't differentiate as there an anti-gambling organisation.

Hopefully the gambling community will come out in force and repel SCV and that's all it'll be a 12 week trial.

There appears to be no check process and no independent arbitration. If an Operator doesn't like your face they can label you a 'problem gambler' and ban you from all online gambling in the UK with the press of a button. They don't have to prove anything to anyone because they don't have to share any details. In fact they're not allowed to, which is how they've got around GDPR.

As of today I've stopped using any bookmaker except Betfair and Betdaq Exchanges. At least they aren't likely to bin you off for being a winner.

Last night I closed all my sportsbook accounts (bar Betfair & Betdaq, I can't see how you can close Betfair sportsbook account while only having an exchange account the two come hand in hand).

Possibly an over reaction but my football trading pays for my holidays and just getting into automation, python etc so belt and braces for me to nt give them any opportunity.

I'd rather over react in this instance and attempt reduce the probability of getting my exchange accounts closed. Each to their own.

Putin launching an all-out nuclear attack on Western Europe is now just a trivial concern on this forum. :)

Why bother worrying about a Nuclear attack on the UK - we know how it ends so why even worry about it. Somethings are far more important.

I've just read through this thread and it seems ANYBODY who has been banned from one Bookmaker for one reason or another is going to be banned by every Bookie who is registered to the scheme. I was banned by Ladbrokes for using my wife's account (it doesn't matter how they found out) does this mean I will be banned from ever putting a bet on again, even on Betfair once they find out.

This is proper Orwellian sh!t this, crazy. I've spend years trying to make trading work and just as about I am about to go into constant profit they think they can pull the plug on EVERY account. This is insane.

Just because a few people kill themselves after going to far. Sorry if it sounds heartless but these people probably would have died of something at some point anyway. 20,000 people die of Alcohol poising every year and I don't see that getting banned. The worst thing is THEY INTRODUCED the Casio style games that the odd few people get sucked into - they created this problem. Once they start to share information and act on it they will have to close 10,s of thousands of accounts overnight. It is none of their business where I spend my money.
