I can't help I'm afraid, but stories like these just leave me aghast. Treating customers the way they do simply re-emphasises their total arrogance. It stems from having no competitors, they are a betting exchange dictatorship! You get the impression sometimes that they actually think they are a Government body, auditing people for tax evasion

There is a thread on this already: -

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2835&p=27093&hilit= ... nce#p27093

Probably best to raise that to the top to keep the thread up to date.

My mistake, it is this thread? Don't know why I thought you post was on a different thread. Sorry.

Just read your message on Twitter.

It's pretty poor that they didn't even tell you why they were suspending your accounts...

Every single one, even the one that authenticates Bet Angel users. Talk about giving yourself bad publicity. The have decided to release that one after realising the impact but they haven't even had the courtesy to speak to me about what is going on.

Somebody from a magazine has been on the phone already hunting for a story. I guess they saw the twitter post.

I wonder if it will go along the lines of 'Last year, this man put bets totalling over £100 million through Betfair. Today, they decided to close his account, without even telling him why...'. It would make me want to read on... :)

There now must be enough disgruntled customers to bring collective legal action, whenever you exlain what betfair get up to to any who doesnt use the site the first thing they say is "how can they get away with that!!"

I deliberately let Betfair fall into this one by avoiding anything that could be considered avoidance. I wanted to test if they were closing accounts for avoidance or just closing winning accounts.

Maybe they have found an link that isn't obvious? But as I have trained so many people and all the team trade actively each day they may have just made an error of judgement.

Still no response from them despite trying to expedite it.
