Sunday 30 March 2025 @ 2000 BST - MotoGP Race COTA, Texas, USA

During the race, when there was a faller or when someone entered the pits to retire, BF in their absolute 'wisdom' and for the first time ever, decided to suspend the market and remove said riders from the market!

DURING THE RACE!

Yes I was caught with an exposed position - I had an open back position on Francesco Bagnaia to win, which thankfully he did, but the 3 separate suspensions each seemed to take an absolute age before the market was unsuspended!

Imagine if BF decided to suspend the Grand National winner market this Saturday each and every time a horse fell, refused or was pulled up - it would be utter chaos!!!

I've reported this matter to Betfair using X as the only available method of communication these days.

Betfair doing something to the 17:00 at Exeter, but not sure what or why. Must have missed something.

Tuco, good on you for reporting the problem to Betfair. Hopefully they’ll take heed and the next MotoGP will stay in-play from start to finish.

It makes me wonder how these departures from the norm occur.

BF reply this afternoon:
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Occasionally, market suspensions may occur due to scouting issues, feed problems, and other factors. We will work diligently to prevent these situations in the future."

Tuco, was the MotoGP winner market back to normal today? No suspensions?

EDIT: I’m a day early! 😳 I saw MotoGP in the TV guide when I was looking for the cycling. Must’ve been qualifying.

...yes they didn't suspend the MotoGP in-play today, but yesterday in the F1 qualifying they did - they simply don't understand the dynamics of the markets they offer - they always promise to look into things but they never resolve the issues.

(yesterday was the MotoGP sprint race - today was the MotoGP main race).

Cheers, Tuco. At least people can go into the market with their eyes open when they read about these issues on here first.

I meant to have a look at the MotoGP market while it was in-play, but I got a bit sidetracked.

Barcelona/Celta Vigo wasn't turned in-play at k/o then suspended 5 mins into game.
700k in m/o at time of suspension

Did you have any bets between kick-off and the market going in-play? 🫤

Strange that they’d forget the big La Liga afternoon match.

By way of contrast, yesterday’s IPL game went in-play at 3 o’clock on the dot even though a ball wasn’t bowled for the best part of three hours due to rain. I thought it was rather unnecessary. Surely everyone would rather trade without the delay?

Yes I'd intended to do a swing on unders briefly, I entered about 30 seconds before actual k/o (it had been running a bit late anyway) so I assume that they will honour it and my loss on it
