This isn't a change of ownership (yet).

Entain PLC (LSE:ENT) owns Ladbrokes which owns Global Betting Exchange Alderney (GBE) which in turn owns Exchange Platform Solutions Limited (EPS).

EPS is the company that actually runs the website and exchange.

In preparations for this EPS applied for and got licenses in September for:

Betting Intermediary (Exchange)
Casino
General betting - Standard
General betting - Virtual

It did not get licenses for Bingo or Pool Betting (Tote type betting) which GBE do have.

It looks like Ladbrokes are preparing to sell, but it could be Bingo, Pool betting or the Exchange.

Personally I think it will be the exchange and the worst possible outcome would be a sale to Betfair.

On 30th November 2021 at 23:59, we will be transferring the licensed operation of BETDAQ from LC International Limited to Exchange Platform Solutions Limited, which will then be sold and cease to be part of the wider Entain group.

When you login on or after 1st December 2021, you will see a pop-up box with an acceptance prompt. In order to continue using your BETDAQ account, you will need to click to confirm you agree to the updated Terms and Conditions that you will enter into with Exchange Platform Solutions Limited.

It will be interesting to see what Ladbrokes do with their own exchange which is just a direct link to the Betdaq site.

Presumably Dermot is confident there will be no maximum loss limit in the upcoming government review. If that happens Exchanges will be as good as dead unless they are granted some sort of exemption.
