Do you always get the best available price on Betdaq?

Hi. I was away for a two weeks. I have some of the other forums on my phone but regretfully not Bet Angel as of yet.

Was behaving better for me today, but then on the 16:10 @ Newton Abbot it happened again.

A £1 back bet at 1.01 on "Clearance", matched (after the one-second delay) at 1.01 despite money available at 1.07, 1.03 and 1.02. Video attached.

It seems to ebb and flow. Will match as expected for a while, but then there will be a period where it fails. 16:40 @ Newton Abbot also matched at 1.01 despite higher prices being available.

I suspect as it's intermittant and inplay, that maybe it's related to the matching engine not having prices available at the exact moment the orders is fired in?

Perhaps. But sometimes there is plenty of money available at higher prices before, during, and after the bet placement. Yet I still get matched at 1.01. eg this example.

We will try a few things, but being able to replicate is the key. As that will tell us what is happening. At the moment, there is nothing it the code that could cause this. So it must be the matching engine somehow at Betdaq.

I placed a £1 back bet at 1.01 on a selection where 1.26 was available. During the 7-sec bet delay 1.27 became available, yet when my bet hit the market it was still matched at 1.26, despite 1.27 remaining available. You can see the £1 come off the 1.26 in the vid attached. Surely it should have matched at 1.27?

That just sounds like currency / odds rounding - you can often get a very slight difference on prices when dealing with small amounts. That is much different to the other issues where you are not getting matched when you should be.

I do have a theory as to what might be happening, but have no easy way to test it. But, perhaps it could be an idea worth putting to your technical team?

It feels like perhaps I'm only getting matched against offers that have remained static during the bet placement delay period. So when offers towards the top of the ladder are rapidly fluctuating (as they would towards the end of a horse race), then by the time my 1.01 back hits the market following the one-sec delay, it often gets matched further down the ladder where offers are more stable. This would also explain the anomalies I saw on the slower-moving in-play football that I posted above.
