Betfair must be shitting themselves, because Ladbrokes are a very different beast to the previous Betdaq

The ironic thing is that Betfair are headed in the opposite direction, which is surely a strategic mistake. They are moving their focus from their strongest area to the weakest, whereas Betdaq appears more of a bolt on opportuntity for Ladbrokes with potential to leverage existing channels.

Exciting times ahead for sports trading!

I wonder what betfairs response will be if growth declines this year?

It's already forecast to decline as part of the new CEO's 'strategy' to focus on core markets, like err. fixed odds.

Genius! Unless costs are disproportionate to growth which I can't see? Or they know something about the exchange model laddaq don't it seems an odd change of direction?

I couldnt agree more. I dont know the new CEO background but it seems he doesnt understand what bf were about and come in and decided that to make more money they need to be more like the main stream book makers.

I have just looked at the new sportsbook site for the first time and it looks as though to save costs they have employed some 14 year old to design it in their spare time at the weekends. If they are going to run a sports book to offer just back bets they should somehow integrate a tab within each market to switch to some type of ladder/exchange model within their site.
