Hey All,

I am familiarizing myself with the 'ANY' and 'EVERY' option for selections. I created a test rule (attached) which checks if ANY horses are looking strong (ie back price < $1.90) and it sets a stored value 'strong' to one (1). This works very nicely if any runners are under $1.90.

I have an alternate rule to see if the race is weak by checking if EVERY horse has a back price > $2.00. Weirdly, this second rule triggers even if there is a runner under $2.00 (setting 'strong' to zero). Trust me, the price isn't flapping near the cutoff price :)

Am I misunderstanding the definition of EVERY in this context?

cheers

This should work, but maybe not the most "logical" way to stop it from triggering.

Thanks Iotora, unfortunately it won't let me open your file due to a version mismatch. I am trying to read the raw text to decipher what you have done :)

Aha! Maybe because I use the VPS version?
Basically what I did was to replace the "Weak-Conditions".

Thanks Iotora, I like the logic!

I am not actually trying to use this rule anywhere, it was just a proof-of-concept to help me understand the ANY and EVERY options. Hopefully someone can clarify what the EVERY feature does and/or why it isn't working like I expect.

When a rule is applied to 'Every' selection it will trigger on every selection that meets your conditions
When a rule is applied to 'ANY' selection it will trigger on any selection that meets your conditions - it does this by checking each selection in turn beginning with the selection in row 1

...can you choose which selections you wish the rule to trigger on, say selections 1-6 by favouritism?

Yes, you can use the following;

'Relative Odds Condition'
the selections back price
is less than
the back price
of nominated selection 'by order of favouritism 7'

...thanks Dallas - I'll give that a go - just saves starting separate servants for each of the runners and then can have different servants set-up for different page layouts.

Should I use 'ALL' or 'ANY' under the 'General' tab?
