That's due to the new generation of keyboard button-based cameras rather than the old bezel cameras.

I have an otherwise-lovely new Huawei Matebook 14, but the camera is unusable as it is indeed pointing up my nose and when I look at the guys on screen it's as though I'm looking much higher above the screen. Incredibly annoying and means I have reverted to using my old Chromebook for Zoom / Hangouts and Teams sessions.
