I could always put you in touch with my neighbour if you need some advice on growing 😆
I had no idea why I kept checking on this thread today. Now I do :D
We gotta have a bit of self indulgent humour every now & again 😁
When you see a thread about 'Growing Tomatoes' getting 20 posts in a day you know its time to bring back sports!
Or who knows what we'll be talking about in a few more weeks

Very true, who knows what the forum could turn into if this keeps going on, with there being so many things to grow like James suggested :)

Hopefully you won't have to hear people dispensing growing advice like "don't get high on your own supply"

That might be rule #1 for certain expert growers but not sure whether that advice fully transfers over to Derek's tomatoes.

Or it shows we don't need sports back because we're all doing just fine living The Good Life?
I think many of us of a certain age have always harboured dreams of Barbara handling our vegetables.

Even they got tempted and nearly sucked back into the daily grind during the 'Pottery' episode ;)

Result !
The neighbour had some tomato plants out front to day foc. Got 6 about 3" high, neglected but viable.
I'll have to go round tomorrow and offer him some spare lemon chilli plants, mainly to find out what variety these toms are!
Game on. :D

I wish I had your neighbours. My neighbours emptied their litter tray today, spilt the contents full of shit all around the bin enclosure and haven't bothered sweeping it up. :x

It's not really growing from the tomato but one of the seeds it contains, as in nature.

I've figured out why my tomato plants were growing so slowly. I left them in the little pots for too long, where the roots are restricted. They've started thriving now planted out. :)

Still no explanation as to why my chillies aren't growing, it's almost as though they've been frozen in time for the last month. :(

Yeah, the seed packet recommends growing in greenhouses.

I'm growing strawberries - I have 3 x 80cm plastic troughs (from B&Q) each with 4 plants in - harvested 6 nice ripe strawberries this morning which I had on a bowl of bran flakes :)

You might get away with your little seedlings if you can't get any plants that are a bit further on, they do seem to have a knack of catching up.
You were dead right about that - exactly 10 weeks on and the little seedling has grown into a monster bush with three tomatoes! :D

Sadly, I don't think there's any chance of getting a chilli from the little plant on the left, and I've abandoned next years plans for bananas and coconuts. ;)

You never know. The way our weather seems to be going coconuts and bananas might become our national crop.
