I've figured it out now, it's the Gif images that are small/low-quality. I've never been into graphics.

That explains why I keep getting the 'file too large' error when I post to the forum.

That's sort of spoilt the fun of trying to limbo under 10k. Anyone can just grab a random picture and use it, where's the fun in that.

I remember it took me a while and required some online tools to get mine below the limit and not be distored
