1973 was a pretty crap year for music! David Bowie's Life on Mars was my pick of the year but there wasn't much I'd still want to listen to.
What about this classic?! :)

Not quite as outdated as the monarchy but not far off! :D

Took me a few minutes to realise it wasn't something like this https://youtu.be/byg5mNmxXWU?t=136

Just booted up my new laptop and whatever version of windows is on it, it's demanding an email address, unlike any other version I've used. Apparently, msarewankers@outlook is already in use, but microsoftarewakers is not available. It looks like they've barred the name in anticipation.

Remember Carol Kirkwood's "doggers" moment? well she had another one this morning ... in the preamble to giving the weather forecast from Wimbledon she referred to "the boys balls" (instead of the ball boys!)

How do people with 9 to 5 jobs manage to find time to eat? I've taken the night off, spent my time drinking, listening to music, catching up with the housework, spending quality time with the cat, going down to the shops because I've run out of cigarettes; now I realise I haven't eaten for 16 hours.

FFS, cordless drills don't even work unless you attach the battery!

It's taken me 5 minutes to figure it out.

I couldn't disagree more strongly! The astounding arrogance of that statement saddens me enormously. That anyone could sincerely hold that view is frankly staggering.

The Monarchy is almost the very last bastion of what it means to be a selfless, God-fearing, patriotic English Lady or Gentleman.

In particular, our reigning Monarch Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth, has devoted almost 7 decades of tireless service and duty, and done more for old Blighty and British interests on the global stage, than any other 10 individuals combined!

Shouldn't be trading in the state I am, but trading the 0.5 market in a goalless match, you can't go wrong. :D

CS, I was confused by your post because your comments were placed inside darchas's quote, so I've just rearranged it. I think Pat's comment about the monarchy was a joke and shouldn't be taken too seriously, after all, this is the beer garden. :)

A day may come when we have the very last covid-19 specimen. Doesn't mean we should keep it, never mind propagate and spread it. :)

I hear on Sky News that football hooligans should be ashamed of themselves. There was a time when they should be arrested. ;)

I thought it was about 9 O'clock as I get ready for bed. Turns out it's near one in the afternoon. Doesn't make much difference in this flipping summer. It's dark day and night!
