Qatar brokering negotiations between the two sides over refraining from destroying each other's power stations over winter.
Ukraine is short on manpower and outnumbered 8 to 1. Believe it not, Ukraines best option is to attack Russian power stations, cause misery to the Russian economy and people. Harsh and mega risks but there only way to some sort of victory.

The Harris and Trump came agree Ukraine will need to be cut down the middle for a negotiated peace. You can’t win a war against a Nuclear power using conventional weapons.

Ukraine will basically be forced to surrender whoever wins the US election. Harsh but true.
They were outnumbered from the beginning. What's changed? If Putin was going to go nuclear he would have by now.
The sacrifice and resistance of Ukraine has been astonishing. Will they let all that sacrifice go to become part of an evil regime?

Once the new US president is announced there will be mega pressure put on Ukraine to sit down and give up land to end the war. If not then the USA may well pull support and funding, leaving the EU to do it all, they wont. I put good money on it.

Apologies if that was insensitive.

But you get my point. You've been expecting nuclear strikes since week one, yet since then Ukraine has pulled off some incredible counterattacks and even launched incursions back into Mother Russia.

I meant for Ukraine to WIN it needs to attack Russian powerstations and cause havoc the Russians.

Sooner or later (Sooner) Ukraine will have to sit down and give up land, its running out of men, allot of whom have left the country or are hiding so they cant get drafted to fight. The BBC made a program about it whereby men were being stopped on the street and some taken away etc.

The entire approach of western support for Ukraine is NOT to attack Russia.
For precisely the reasons you've made. Overwhelming numbers and the threat of nuclear retaliaton.
Ukraine has to continue to resist (at great cost) while the west shows Putin they won't flinch in their support. The idea of the west getting directy involved is curtains for us all.
The nuclear powers involved are dancing around each other.
The ne thing that is certain is Putin is a looney and the sooner the moderates in Russia get rid of him, the better, but it won't happen soon. Plus if he goes suddenly you don't know how bad his replacement would be.

For once I agree with you. Putin is willing to squander lives to grind against Ukraine's resistance. He doesn't care about his people at all.
All leaders are not the same. If Starmer tried this here there would be a revolution.

Putin can fire North Korean/Iranian weapons anywhere he likes in the Ukraine, Ukraine can't use our weapons inside Russia. NATO/West can't use troops in the Ukraine but Russia can use North Korean troops?

The West/NATO need to grow a pair starting with Iran and tell them one more Iranian weapon used on the Ukraine or Israel by Hezbollah or Hamas and it's game over for them won't take much for the Government to fall in Iran the people can't stand them and as for that fat nonce in North Korea and his banana republic they need to be telling him one boot strap or one gun shot at Ukrainian troops/people and it's game over for him and his regime his rockets aren't worth a carrot nor is he. His rockets wouldn't even get out of storage never mind a chance to fire them before the big bombs rain down on him.

Russia won't do a carrot Putin is like all dictators a coward, he loves power and will do anything to keep it and that includes sat in the Kremlin while Iran and North Korea are dealt with. China will just watch it all and more bothered about how much money they can make out of it

I said as a trader earlier in the year, back in early winter, Ukraine needed to sue for peace, they have lost some of their provinces and had to give them up. They could have joined NATO as long as no nuclear weapons were put on Ukrainian soil.
Now it is too late and they are praying for an unlikely Democratic win. Trump will not care about Ukraine. I think Trump will win with the latest figures, and the next thing will be Ukraine losing their provinces, and no NATO membership.

I wonder what could happen here if North Korea retaliates.

Russia has amassed a force of 50,000 soldiers, including North Korean troops, to march on the Kursk region.

😔

So wish I was 10 years younger.

😔

Why won’t the west allow Ukraine to have the long range firepower, makes no sense why not too in my book ?
