I missed this news completely. I was really stunned and deflated when I found out yesterday.

Was a sad day for me when it was announced as well. I really thought he had beaten the cancer.

That's sad news that went under the radar. Back in the days when pubs had live music I saw him jam with a couple of bands on a Sunday lunchtime at a pub called the Leather Bottle in Wimbledon. He'd probably been there since the night before. The sort of guitarist who start with 6 strings and finish with 1.

Indeed. English teacher, rock guitarist, cancer survivor, actor. Not a bad haul.

I would suggest he personified existentialism - just do it.
