Ah the subtleties of the English language. I didn't say I cannot understand the other side, I said I ...
I said 'your side' wants to throw away the international advantage the monarchy provides, I didn't say I can't see why you want to remove the monarchy.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 8:49 am... cannot see why some should want to throw away that advantage
Anyway I guess we still disagree on the monarchy!

This is one of my (many) pet hates, I now have a simple rule that works very well,......when I buy something from a supermarket, like a block of cheese or a packet of biscuits or a bar of chocolate, if I need a "tool" (sharp knife or scissors usually) to open the packaging, I will not buy that product again!
Gold blend coffee is something that winds me up everyday, 10years ago, maybe more, it came in a very functional jar, then they changed the jar to something where 9 times out of 10, the lid gets cross threaded when you put it back on.........."if it aint broke, dont fix it!"
You shouldn't even need a tin opener in this day and age (with the wasted water to was the tin opener). I've never smashed up a PC after a bad trade but I have in the past smashed up a food packet out of frustration, because it was difficult to open.
I've noticed in the last couple of years that most tinned food (tuna, beans, ravioli, soup) I have bought had ringpulls onJukebox wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 2:35 pmReminded me of this story:

Most most frustrating experience in the kitchen recently was getting cling film tangled up and it tearing off in strips as I spent 15 minutes trying to sort it to no avail
It's packets of bacon that really make my blood boil. Always have a peel tab that never works and you have to get a sharp knife out.
Just been to Lidl, won't be drinking until the 20:00 match but have to make do with cheap quality lager again. I guess the supermarkets thought England would be out by now.
