BA latest version

Can someone please tell me what is the latest version of BA ?

I am having ann argument with ChatGPT

We've had a lot of people arrive in support asking for various versions that simply don't exist.

ChatGPT was telling there were versions upto 1.66 and with what the upgrades were, should have take a snapshot, anyway after many arguments its finally settled on 1.62.0 at least with me.

We had a strange situation a few weeks ago where a customer insisted we must give them the download link for 1.68, despite the fact it doesn't exist. Wouldn't take no for an answer.

Given that the version number is clearly stated on the Bet Angel download page & should have been a really straightforward thing for ChatGPT to get right, why would you trust it with any response?

PS: I'm not having a go, just interested in your thoughts.

(in general I find it either really good or can't trust a word it says which makes me question the good stuff !)

edit - and some of that may be down to me not using it properly

To be honest as a user who is really up to scratch with VBA, GPT was really helpful with creating what I wanted, this gave me encouragemt to go deeper using Excel/VBA
The problem came when I started to convert what I had in VBA to a baf for Guardian......................that really was a problem, I was being "told" to do certain things that just could'nt be done in 1.62.0, this is where the clashes started.
It was really frustrating being tolld that what I was trying to do was probably available in later versions.
So we agreed we would both only work with the latest version.................for now.

The sniff test is, is the information publicly available? And as the spec for the baf format isn't then it's not going to know it, no matter how much it says so.

I've had similar bold assertions about the internal workings of other software. "Tell me where you found that information" or "link to the specification" will usually send it into the usual humiliating "There isn't one, I'm making an assumption" responses.

I just went to a recent thread and asked it to list the technical assumptions it had made during it, that turned out to be, to put it politely, incorrect. I don't even think this is half it .....

Excel has been around for 40 years and still has issues, and all that's doing is sums. Interactive AI clearly has its faults but it's damn good really when it gets on a good streak.

But does show that it's not going to write decent code for you, but if you know how to do it yourself (and it's great at teaching) then it saves a hell of a lot of time by doing the tedious stuff.

Care & maybe a course on "prompting" seems to be the way forward.
