Hasn't NASA ever heard of the Law of unintended consequences?! Most SCI-FI movies have it as a plotline but NASA seem oblivious!

What if they push this asteroid off its natural trajectory by a few degrees and through a game of cosmic snooker we get wiped out by an even bigger asteroid in a couple of hundred years!

It's in orbit around a larger asteroid so the primary asteroid's course won't be affected.

If sci-fi has thought us anything it's that there's always something the scientists don't account for.

What if when they send the final instructions for the spacecraft to crash into the asteroid it responds "I'm sorry NASA. I'm afraid I can't do that" and hurtles into the primary asteroid instead?!

They should start working on a force-field around the earth.

They will be obsolete soon you would think, private companies already deliver most parcels and bills will just be emailed in the future.

They've never been reliable. I once ordered a leather jacket, received the empty packaging, the jacket was nicked. Another time a local solicitor sent me a cheque via recorded delivery. I received it 10 days later with an apology note saying the letter was found in an empty sack. Then you got the CD set, posted twice, containing thousands of child benefit claimants' bank account numbers. Neither of them reached their destination. Don't know why anyone would use the service.

So's mine but she doesn't have time to give me more than a hello and smile before she buggers off to see her next punter.

Now that you mention it, I've switched my prescriptions to Pharmacy2U, which relies on the post. As you know I can't stand queuing. But I've heard they prioritize medications.

The last time I had my hair cut, which was a good few years ago ( ), the 17-year-old said he passed both, the standard and advanced driving test but couldn't afford the £2K insurance he'd need to get a car!

One of the few perks of being in your 50s, and that's for a Range Rover. I've also got a 1976 car that's £95, no tax or mot reqd. and my bike (1300 cc) is £80. Fully comp. It helps that I do <5k a year and a nice safe postcode, never claimed either.

It's unfair though, my lads first policy was 2500 for a pile of junk worth a grand.

Yamaha XJR1300. Its a 2000 (the best year for build quality) with just 11,000 miles on it. I picked it up for a bargain 2,200 from a guy in his 70s who was giving up. Tbh I only did 40mls on it last year. I've always had XJRs, I fit drag bars and change the rear suspension and they're alright. Stock they're a bit sit-up-and-beg. My licence wouldn't last long with a fared bike
