It was bad enough when cricketers broke from tradition with their non-white kits. Now NASA is following suit, no pun intended.

Bloody enforced Windows Updates day. I hate the 2nd Weds of the month so much. I wish you could just permanently switch them off.

Code: Select all

; To stop Windows Update service (place in an automated startup file so it runs on every boot. Microsoft sneakily switch it on occasionally.)
NET STOP wuauserv
SC config wuauserv start= disabled

; To start the service when it's convenient to update.
SC config wuauserv start= auto
NET START wuauserv
Thanks. :D

You'd need help getting that recharging lead plugged in :?

What a way to go, bent over a lunar rock while your buddy tries to get his backup air supply up your arse. I'll stay down here.

I've just received a text from my surgery reminding me of my appointment.....next Friday!!

flipping lot of use that is, if I can remember to turn up next Friday I wouldn't need a reminder. And they complain that people don't turn up to appointments!

You don't find GPs or NHS staff complaining about missed appointments, mine says it's' a blessed 10min chance to catch up on paperwork. The only 'They' I've seen complaining are govt ministers sticking the blame on us for it being a shambles and trying to squeeze another tenner out of us. Always someone elses fault, missed appointments aren't a new thing just a new excuse.

I purchased a shed three years ago and they've emailed me a brochure in case I want to buy another one. I still haven't finished eating the first one!

LED lightbulbs are supposed to last 20 years. Why to they sell 'em in packs of 4+? I might not live long enough to change one!

Just watching BBC Gold "How The Yioung Ones Changed Comedy".
Apparently Ben Elton was asked to write an essay for the hierachy as to why this was funny.
That's funny in itself.
Ok minority view, but that series made me chuckle.

I've watched it a few times and the last time (about five years ago) I didn't find it funny at all. It was brilliant for its time though for our generation and a complete break from the usual sitcoms of the time.

Talking of comedy, Spitting Image is back in the West End. Don't know why they didn't do a TV series. They'd hardly be short of political material. ;)

That's from the moon. It will get within about 40,000 miles of Earth, that's only 5 Earth diameters.
