They just need to fit some brains into the compliance team. :)
No chance.

I'm going though a bit of a farce at the moment. They asked, again, for a full verification check. So despite having provided this before I duly supplied the content through the document uploader.

Now they are saying they can't find it. So I uploaded again and emailed them a screenshot of each step I took and to which account I uploaded.

They are still saying they can't find it. It's bizarre!
It would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that people depend on Betfair for their livelihood. Sooner or later they must surely start to feel it in the pocket with loss of comms and PC.
Reading between the lines, I reckon the Betfair Exchange will be sold off as a seperate entity, sooner rather than later.

Reckon there are some private business angels that would pay a good price and with sensible planning, improve/re-write the software with proper investment. They should also take the opportunity to liaise with the likes of Peter Webb (maybe on a consultancy) to ensure it will be in better shape for the long-term.

Usual problem with modern retail business ... cheaper to find new customers than keep old ones!

I doubt the bookies will want to sell the exchanges, they're doing to good a job of screwing them up. If they sold them the exchanges will become a threat to them again. As it stands now they don't really promote them and prefer to push their sportsbooks.

Can see that for sure.

I believe the exchange and bookies exists more as a symbiotic relationship. However, everything has its' price, it's just a question of how long term an investor can see ahead and market/promote the product in a better way.

Now that I think about it again and in reference to your point, the irony is now may not be a bad time to sell after all. The reason is that with all the cultural, social and political changes going on in Western society whoever owns the exchanges faces an uphill struggle to promote them anyway.

Anyone have access to this article on RP? What's the general gist of it, anything of note?

To update on my verification process. Betfair popped up last week and admitted that the document uploader was not working. So anybody uploading verification documents has been be able to do so, but Betfair never received them or they were seemingly lost somewhere in the system.

I know a couple of guys with premium. I'll ask them if they can sent me the text. Probably just a couple of basic paragraphs in reality.

Yep it's probably just going to be along the lines of 'cabinet reshuffle has meant the new gambling reforms are looking uncertain to be resolved anytime soon'.

I take Labour's supposed anti-gambling stance with a pinch of salt!

It was during Labour's 13 years in government 1997-2010 that internet gambling exploded.

If they're asking for passport/driving licence images, bank statements or utility bills that they're not receiving, I'm sure ID fraudsters will have their eyes open for them. ;)
