You mean like you just did, with the crack?

At this point you're just asking for Reverend CS to come in and preach against buggery FFS Dex, get a hold of yourself man.

Not even sure why I am posting here, bNot even sure why I am posting here, but even by American capitalist standards (“American” in the derogatory sense) the executive pay of Denise Coates is grotesque in its vulgarity.

To achieve roughly £1bn through salary and dividend payments is shocking. A lot of member here have some experience of the corporate world and may have been successful, some may have been dick for tick financial futures scalpers or some other experience all put significant elbow grease to secure our financial futures.

I do not detract from her efforts but only hope she contributes enough to political causes, I fear the image of gambling and their ruthless operators serve as red flag to our righteous politicians. I imagine a headline somewhere such as “Executive pay on the back of problem gamblers” and as we know it only takes one problem gambler to tarnish everyone.
Posting out of jealousy I'd imagine. Proper Stokies come from nothing from a shi#thole area, not left the UK. I don't follow politics whatsoever but been told a few years ago massive labour supporters. Her old man wanted socialist principles in his club he owned towards the end, look how that's panned out.

It's a little unfair. Most people who come to Stoke usually come through Stoke (which sounds a little odd) but Stoke is made up of Towns & Stoke within Stoke is one of them... and it is a shit hole, a real hell hole. Conveniently the local council & Stoke City FC found it was the perfect place to represent the city as a whole or maybe as a hole... anyway, most of the old pottery/steel workers estates are now occupied with prostitution & drug problems but.... that is all sort of zoomed centrally into to the map of Stoke. On the outskirts, or around the parameter there is some really nice places to live. Parcularaly the prices of houses within the shit hole centre can be more expensive than the houses with character & land on the outskirts. The price people will pay to be closer to work maybe? Or the illusion of being metropolitan in an apartment? Who knows, it's always been above me.

For what it's worth too, I've been outside of the UK & I'd probably guess that most people from Stoke have. The only place I've found with a warmer & more attractive appeal is Yorkshire... obviously there is no comparison there but Stoke is where the heart is, Yorkshire is where the fresh air is.

Lemmy came from Stoke Slash was born there.

I generally deprecate towns and cities being called shitholes, in those towns and cities are people with dignity and pride. Southern snobs love that line.

I used to call the place where I was brought up a shithole (unjustly and only because I hadn't explored the worse parts of London), but it was a reflection on the place, not the people.

Evening all :D

Actually we still can't worship indoors, at least not with others yet. I did however watch a fascinating documentary this morning retracing the steps of Christ from his birth in Nazareth, to his crucifixion in Golgotha, then into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, where lies his tomb and the site of his resurrection that we (mostly) all celebrate this Sunday. It was presented by a fabulous Scottish artist named Lachlan Goudie, and the second part then traced the life of his Mother, the Virgin Mary, and explored her eventful life and why she was even mentioned in the Qur'an, indeed, the only woman mentioned there.

It was called Painting the Holy Land on BBC2 and is available on the iPlayer I believe, for those who missed it.

Good ebening Reverend :)

Trust me, it's best you don't know what Derek's been watching lately, lewd films called Nude Nuns With Big Guns or some such. And what's worse, he's even been ranting about how they're not lewd enough!!!

He is truly beyond salvation. Needs a proper telling-off I tell you!
