"What I certainly think is that if you look at the by-elections, people were absolutely fed up about hearing about things that I stuffed up, endless churn of stuff, and what they wanted to hear was, well, yeah year, but what is this guy, all that, but what is this guy doing?"
Make of it what you will. Sky News reports it as an admission that his own errors contributed to the by-election disaster. From a different angle, he could be blaming the media for the fact that all voters hear about is things he's fucked-up instead of reporting what he's doing. Quite ironic as all he's been doing over the last year was partying and lying about it, and that's what the media's been reporting.

He's certainly right up there with Chris Grayling but it's difficult to say which is the bigger liar.
