Serious question: What's worst, looking at porn in the house of commons and only partially paying attention or falling asleep?

No question to my mind it's the latter. Get rid of that doughnut who was asleep during Javid's resignation speech!

The entire Labour bench shouted "Goodbye Boris" as Johnson left the chamber.

Really? What a surprise! Possibly the best decision she's made. But it wasn't rocket science by now, was it?

What no-one is discussing is - what next? And who? The Newstatesman is touting Truss as PM. So we need a neo-Thatcherite now?

Truss for PM. As a close friend of BJ i expect her to take revenge against some in the tory party, the press and go after Labour with haste. :D

And if you thought Mrs T was bad. Think again. I suspect Truss or the new Mrs T can be even more nasty.

Wonder how long the BBC license fee will remain in place when the dust settles.

I guess the next big thing to happen is that this thread will die and we'll all get back to trading. :)

Resignations up to 42 now, but James Duddridge says it's business as usual.

The Beeb, for all it's faults, is pretty ethical. They've had fun quoting ministers, cabinet ministers, former cabinet ministers criticising BJ. But the bottom line is the Beeb says zip unless they have a legitimate source. Even with Ukraine other channels are slinging accusations around but the Beeb say "the BBC is unable to verify these claims". That may seem trivial, but for me, as a pedant, that's quite important.

I suppose it's understandable that Johnson doesn't want to leave No.10 after the money Carrie spent on the wallpaper.

I've just heard if the 1922 Committee changes their rules and ousts BJ as party leader, he could carry on as prime minister without being a Conservative party leader or member.

One of the papers says Johnson is fatally wounded, but unfortunately they're speaking metaphorically.

Correct. And he also could have the Metropolitan Police removed from downing street and his personal protection detail. Then replace them with army special forces in plain clothes. But I guess that would cause a right old serious problem for the state.

The army are probably much better at running things than any government. BJ could call a national emergency and call the army in to help run government.

That would cause a stir.
