Unless I've seen the wrong clip I'm not sure that is what he said. Being under investigation was just one in a list of reasons why he should resign. They probably didn't include the last 20 items.

I can confirm that this party did in fact take place & there was approximately 50 guests.

And I recall reading somewhere it was £200+ of curry so that's maybe £5 per guest! That's probably why there has been no mention of what curries.

I never call somebody a liar unless it's clear cut. Denying any knowledge of a party you've been to or denying knowing you're at a party is lying, plain and simple. Labour back-stabbers are out and I've heard reports of people present saying they didn't go back to work after the curry and beer and there were people present who weren't working and just turned up to a social gathering but it's yet to be verified.

I'm getting sick of hearing the term 'beergate'. It's only an accusation and as such, doesn't fit the criteria to be called a 'gate'.
