She did look remarkably frail in the photos on Tuesdays

But, she also looked remarkably happy

My Gran died at 96, but was a miserable old devil in her final months
I'd go round to see her in the afternoon

"Hello Gran!"
"I'm watching Tenable. What do you want?" :?

Any ideas on the protocol regarding sport events when she dies? Guessing the racing will be off for a bit.

There will be an official period of 'National Mourning'

None of us have been alive for such an event though, so no idea how many days that will last for

I think it's established that it's a ten day period, what that means for sport and entertainment i'm not sure. Would be surprised if everything is expected to pack up for ten days though.

So that's ten days of non-stop partying for Boris Johnson. I wonder if Truss will be invited. :)

When George V died there were 12 days of mourning and no work.

No idea if that tradition will be carried on but given how long she has been Queen then it could well be the same or even more.

But she isn’t gone yet so show some respect you money grabbing party animals.

I can imagine 10-12 days of black armbands and ceremony but no way will we get a two-week bank holiday in the current economic climate. Alfred the Great and many other kings of the middle ages left a large part of their estate to the "poor" and to help the people. Given the massive rise in food banks, a hefty donation to such a cause wouldn't go amiss and leave a lasting legacy.

Sad to see

If you want to spout a load of disrespectful stuff about the queen, I suggest Twitter not Bet Angel

It would be harsh to be left out of her Will for all we've done for her. Servicemen and women making the ultimate sacrifice in her name blah blah blah.

The inheritance tax on her estate will be interesting. 40% on anything over 325k ? The short help the coffers.

All I hope is that it doesn't wreck the TV schedules on EVERY channel.

If the Queen dies on a weekend there will be no bank holiday. If she dies on a weekday there will be an unofficial days holiday but employers will not be told to give everyone the day off.

So, it seems you will get nothing.

All estates, monies automatically transfer to next in line. Queen has a small personal will.

So, again, the public will get nothing.
