Very interesting that they asked you specifically for "income before any betting".

This is my fear, that they won't or can't take gambling winnings into account when assessing affordability.

You could take the view that your not betting but trading.

But I agree with what you said about going through the motions, do we know anyone who's actually been excluded or restricted by these checks?

That's a good point. I know a few on here have had their account closed but I can't recall if it was rule-breaking or deposits.
