Legislation is the answer. You cannot deposit money to gambling accounts via a credit card in the UK (I'm just assuming your UK based). Been like this for a few years.cmuddle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 6:13 pmHi guys

That NOW applies to cryptocurrencies as well. Advised by FSCA.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 6:47 pmLegislation is the answer. Yes had the e-mail form Nationwide the other day not that I've ever bought crypto and if I did the last thing I'd be using is a visa cardThe Silk Run wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 7:02 pmThat NOW applies to cryptocurrencies as well. The UK rules forbid gambling on credit, and rightly so in my view.
The confusion arises as both Visa and Mastercard offer debit cards.
Generally Visa manage the majority of debit cards, and most Mastercards are CREDIT cards, however the old Access / Switch and DEBIT Mastercards still exist in the UK and Europe, causing confusion with those operators who have simply banned ALL Mastercard use.
To futher complicate matters, both debit and credit cards start with the same number - 4 for all Visas and 5 for all Mastercards, so it's easy to see why some operators just ban all cards starting with a 5, as most of them are credit cards, though not all, as above,
Given the very dim view that most banks take on using any kind of debit or credit card to gamble, I strongly recommend using BACS to transfer funds to Paypal (or similar) for free, then deposit and withdraw back to Paypal as a Paypal credit or debit won't cause any credit worthiness issues with your bank.

Unless your cross-platform matching is integral to your profitability you might want to consider stopping it in case you fall foul of impending consumer protection rules. If you happen to rack up losses with a single provider that they might deem to be "unaffordable" you could find yourself being red-flagged as a problem gambler and banned from everywhere. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=27103
