I agree with Shaun. If you can make more than an extra tenner a week what's the problem. We run businesses and all businesses compare cost with profit. It's just outsourcing.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 12:49 amTenner a week. I just wish I had the brains to wire it all together. That's how the syndicates get big, it can all become too much work for one pair of hands. Maybe I need to lurk around the Uni offering an unpaid internship
I'm sure I heard once that TPD was £20/day/course, obviously I'm wrong or they've radically changed their fees.

I agree when you break it down. However personally for me I am lucky enough to have other sources free to all that helps me read how a race will pan out.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 12:49 amTenner a week. Have you got an api I can plug into my software?Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:00 amI agree when you break it down. However personally for me I am lucky enough to have other sources free to all that helps me read how a race will pan out.

I get what you mean about the price though especially as there's a lot of work integrating the info and no guarantees it'll help you. But when the Racing Post is £3.50 for yesterday's news <£2/day seems very competitive. I only know a few people that use it but they seem to be happy with the cost/benefit.

Last time I bought it was about £1.80 I was shocked when I looked up the price now.

I wouldnt exactly say BA is "ALL" you need.wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 1:40 pmThe Bet Angel In-Play Trader software is all you need.

Adjust the speed settings to 20ms and you have a fast visual reference point in-play.
Ive seen situations when a horse goes from @32.0 to @5.5 and even lower within a second way too many times and thats enough for me not to say that BA is all i need.
It can help for sure but its just one of many tools you need to be successful when trading inplay.

The GPS data is flawed, I think they quote +/- 1.5 metres, so a three metre worse case and at the speed they're going that's the difference between winning and placing. That doesn't include the usual inaccuracies anyway.
Plus by the time the signals bounced around and got to you, you may as well watch. GPS doesn't tell you how the horse is travelling, just how fast it was going a second or two ago... you're following stale data.
All said there will be angles that I'm sure some clever people here can make money off automated, but I'd suggest that this wouldn't be anymore profitable than following the LTP that BA provide anyway.
From my limited time in the trading world, and having paid for some of it, anyone can package up data in a pretty format and lots of people pay for it. If it was that good, why sell it?
