Once upon a time in the Microsoft Word Development Office, a programmer named Lisa came up with a genius idea: the "Cut" function. Sure, they already had "Copy," but Lisa thought, "Why waste time leaving a duplicate behind when you can just move the text directly?"
Brimming with excitement, she presented her idea to the Word Development Community Board.
"Why would we need a Cut function?" grumbled Gerald, the resident traditionalist. "We already have Copy! Just delete the original text after copying it. Problem solved!"
"But that’s two steps instead of one," Lisa explained patiently. "Cut would make it faster and more efficient."
"Faster isn’t always better," Margaret countered, clutching her notepad like it was her lifeline. "What if someone cuts something important and forgets to paste it? Disaster!"
"And think of the confusion it’ll cause!" shouted Bob, the senior developer. "Imagine users accidentally cutting entire paragraphs, then losing them forever! Copy is safe. Reliable. We don’t need this fancy nonsense."
Lisa tried again. "But wouldn’t it be simpler to have both options? Copy when you need a duplicate, and Cut when you don’t?"
The room fell silent. Gerald stood up, adjusted his glasses, and declared, "If people really want to move text, they can copy it, paste it, and then delete the original. Builds discipline. Teaches patience."
Defeated, Lisa walked back to her desk, grumbling, "Discipline, my foot." She resigned herself to the fact that Word would remain stuck in its overly cautious ways.
Years later, a new hire named Steve accidentally added the Cut function while fixing a typo in the code. Users loved it instantly, and Lisa became a quiet hero—though Gerald continued to insist that "Cut" was just a lazy person’s shortcut.

I get your frustration lotora as I've been there with various software, we all probably have
But if other users or devs don't see it that way, or they have bigger priorities what else can you do really
Not sure sarcasm or AI generated solutions will make it any likelier, imho better to present a clear use case or example that shows the idea's real value

Thanks for your reply, Kai!
I’m not actually frustrated, though I completely understand how I might come across that way. For me, this is just a minor inconvenience after years of using Bet Angel—I’ve found workarounds that get the job done without much hassle.
My main focus is really on making Bet Angel more user-friendly, especially for novice users who would benefit the most from this kind of improvement. I also wanted to make sure this 3-year-old post of mine didn’t fade into oblivion, especially since I still can’t quite wrap my head around why it hasn’t been implemented yet.
There’s probably a perspective or reason I’m not aware of, and that’s perfectly fine.
At the end of the day, I’m just happy to have done my part by bringing it up again as a suggestion that could help others. Either way, I rest my case!
Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
