Anything to do with coding is a can of worms usually. You have something working perfectly then you think, I know. If I just tweak this.

I've always steered well clear of hard coding and write software with future modification in mind, but I think I'll read Jim's link later and see what I can learn.

My design ethos in the office job came from being way out of my depth. If you make something that can do anything then you don't have to know what it ought to do. And tweaks become a support cost not one charged back to development.

I sympathise when you have a 15yr evolution, it's hard enough with a blank slate. Being on v1.60 is starting to look like 2.0 would be a good idea, but a hell of a lot of work (aka money)

I'm quite gun-ho at raising the integer part of version numbers. I'd have BA on about 15.0 by now.
