First you will need some software.

Free software

Open broadcaster software - https://obsproject.com/
Camstudio - http://camstudio.org/
Debut - http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html
Virtual dub - http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_docs.html
Freez - http://www.smallvideosoft.com/screen-video-capture/

Dosh required - But you get free trials

Camtasia - http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasiatrial.asp
BB Flashback - http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk/bbflashback.aspx
My screen recorder - http://www.deskshare.com/msr.aspx

Tips: -

Lower screen resolution means a much smaller file size. Optimal resolution for recording Bet Angel is typically 1024@768

If you want others to see your video in full resolution, then send it to [email protected] using the service http://www.transferbigfiles.com

I've been trying a lot of apps to record screen activity, all of them were making Betangel kinda slow, making horse trading much harder.

Then I found this app: http://www.uvnc.com/screenrecorder/

Since it uses VNC video driver, it can record video using much less CPU. I have tested it today and now I can record my trading sessions without performance issues.

I also recomend MSU Screen Capture Lossless Codec, which can be downloaded here: http://compression.ru/video/ls-codec/sc ... ec_en.html, then Go to Video options and select it.

For all of you that don't have a high end PC, hope it's useful ;)

For some reason my normal video recording software isn't working so I have downloaded CamStudio to use while I try to fix the normal stuff but unfortunately it won't let me set the region over my 4 screens, it is restricting me to one screen - does anyone know how to get it over more than one screen?

TIA.

Hey Andy,

On the recorder toolbar there's like a paper clip icon beside the screen dimensions that locks the aspect ratio. If you unlock this it should allow you to drag the dotted green recording area across all your screens. You might want to relock it again then if you want to watch your video played out across your 4 screens later...

Cheers for the reply - I can't seem to find what you mention.

Just to check you are referring to Camstudio and not Camtasia aren't you?

I have managed to find the solution to my original software issue - good old google!

For future reference it seems Camstudio is not currently able to record over more than one screen.

I thought I would Jing ago. Here's what happened on one greyhound race today. I only used £35 stakes as I have never recorded a trade before. Yeah I think it would help me personally to record every trade and then review them to se how I could have done better.

Jing worked fine up to a point, I found if I clicked on oneside then the next straight away sometimes it didn't place the second bet, Which was a bit hairy. Also I tried to exit Jing after the video and it just sucked the memory out of my computer and if there were any bets left in I would have been stuffed as it took about 30 seconds to get BetAngel to display.

A total profit of £1.67

Here's another one - simple to use, either record full screen or just a window. File size about 30mb for 1hour recording

Hi guys

What do you find is the best way of recording your trading in terms of leaving it recording all afternoon or do each race separately then save the recording?

I left Camtasia recording all afternoon today, then stopped it and it had a paddy and I lost all the recording. Not sure about Camtasia, it seems to take ages to render the video so I might give something else a go.....

never had any issues with camtasia. usually I do portions of one hour recording and saving it as an *.avi file straight away.

Hello there,
I am looking for some video capture software that will also capture the sound off the pc. I want to record streamed football games with live commentary, to later run along side data.
Does anyone know of any software that can capture both please?
regards

Guess i am lucky. I use an imac 27" i7, it uses quicktime to record the screen at upto 1080 hd resolution, have to run BA from the VPS though.

I have a habit of recording every race i trade. In the evening I go back over and beat myself up over every mistake :)

For anyone who hasn't recorded a video, I'd recommend it.

Some of the trades I recorded looked fine at the time, but I later watched the video and thought 'Why on earth did I do that?!?'.

As a result, it was a great learning exercise.
