That wasn't weird at all <teehee> Hey Memphis let me prove I'm better than you in the forum.

Can you just stop... we get it, we know that Memphis wouldn't be great at what he does if it weren't for you.... Jesus flipping christ you're the "master" and the teacher... the best there has ever been and ever will be, the number plate finder in some sequence of sentences. Great job.

Could have sworn I'd already posted a message about this but can't see it....

So, just to say I've asked Dallas to edit the PQ posts inline with pertinent and apt comments about copyright / data infringements / logos etc.

Most are renamed and back to basics but of course have the same PQ capability, should anyone wish to use them.

If you think "proving lessons" is banter then you're a lucky man that Memphis is still your friend, especially since you seem to want him to prove it infront of others.

Yeah he emails now and then. After he got the bug he's a man on a mission and that's great, he really enjoys it...he's done very well in the last month or so and it's easier if one enjoys doing something they like.

Yep does seem to be quite a bit of 'hey, hey , look at me not him' , 'I'm the best', dunno if it's because Memphis took the idea and posted useful sheets without the need to continually express his gratitude or what. But I think most people have got the point by now and doesn't need to be confirmed i every other post tht paspuggie was there first, probably before even microsoft I'd guess.

At the end of the day it's just an excel function that Mepmphis has posted up some useful sheets for, hopefully anyone else posting up PQ sheets in the future won't have to include a list of people to thank everytime they post up a sheet.

My admiration for Memphis has grown considerably, I dont think i could stomach having to constantly prove someone else's ego.

Certainly is a change from posting up the odd cherry picked pnl shot that's for sure.

Morning guys,

I'm wondering if we could doctor the NFL query sheet, into a NBA query sheet?

Obviously you have to change some variables to suit the sport or would it be easier just to start from scratch and a blank excel sheet?

Regards.

Just had a quick look around the sheet and I think it can be improved upon if we can pull the pace numbers. Pace is the total number of possessions a team uses in a game and if a team can play at pace efficiently it has a huge advantage.

I'm thinking of a Pace Calculation Formula like this =[240/(Team Minutes)]*(Possessionteam+Possessionopponent)/2

Team minutes is 240 (5×48= 5 players on the court for 48 minutes) in a regulation game. 265 (=5×53) in a 1 OT game. 290 (=5×58) in 2 OT game. 315 (=5×63) in a 3 OT game. 340 (=5×68) in a 4 OT game.

This would enhance the projections tab in my opinion.

I'm going to watch some power query videos after Cheltenham and hopefully i'll pick it up and we can pool ideas so we end up with the definitive sheet for the NBA
