is this dependant on which version of excel you have, I appear to have error messages.

ah ok I have office 2007 suppose thats why it throws up :=

Initialization of the data source failed
check the database server or contact your database adminstrator. Make sure the external database is available, and then try the opeartion again. If you see this message again, create a new data source to connect to the database.

So something must be different ?

PQ isn't available in 2007 unfortunately
