Hi Everyone

I'm looking for someone to help me with setting up rules in guardian

I don't that excel is required as these functions appear available in guardian.

- Laying all runner's within set odds
- Trigger market at certain time
- Set Liability
- Number of ticks below best price

Best regards,

If you put some numbers alongside your list I'll knock up a file you can play with

Hi
I think Jukebox is offering to compile a file for you! He will need some numbers from you.
ie What odds/what time/howmany ticks etc.
In the meantime you could start by reading the guide, it is quite good.
Have a nice Christmas.

Hi Juke Box that would be awesome if you could create that file:

1: Trigger lay bets all runners 60 secs before the off
2. No odds lower than $1.70, no odds greater than $21
3. Maximum liability $50.00
4. No "in Play"
5. 4% deduction on each runner. ie 8 runners = 132% market

Let me know if you have any questions

Andrew
This should give you a start.

This works to Book % of £50 and is calculated from the Back price minus 4% which will at least give you the benefit of the existing overound and which will mean that your liabilty decreases and payout increases for every match - but an absolute worst case would be if you only caught one match before the off and it happened to be at odds 21 in which case you be looking at a liability of 47.62 for a payout of 2.38 if it won.

Naturally any approach that simply takes existing market prices and lays lower will mean that you'll match all the steamers, miss all the drifters and catch a few wobbling inbetweeners. If you really want to put a book together and don't want to use Excel I would recommend the bookmaking tab in BA.

Have fun.

Hi JukeBox,

I tried uploading the excel file via Guardian however it doesn't appear to link.

Any ideas of what the issue is? I was wanting to run this on the Australian Horse Racing today.

Kind regards,

Andrew its not an Excel fil its a BAF file - save the file in your documents then go to automation tab in guardian and import the file into BA

Thank you DukeBox. When I import the rules file in guardion (BAF) I can't see if the rules have linked to the market?

On another note, is there any way of back testing the rules to see if this profitable over the longer term.

Now you've imported it you need to attach it to your market(s)

To apply the rule to a market(s) in Guardian go to automation tab
Select the file from the drop down 'rule file name' and select the file
Now highlight a market and click on 'apply rules to market'
You should now see the file name appear alongside the market in the list which means it is now attached.

As to backtesting. You are relying on movement in prices to fill your orders so would need access to detailed historical data on price movements. It is available to buy from Betfair. You can collect the data yourself from future markets. And you would need skills beyond the scope of this thread.

You can however use small stakes or practice mode to see how any file fares with live markets and develop your BA skills along the way.

Don't forget to check out the BA manual and the many Bet Angel videos on Youtube
