Good morning

Yesterday I made a hash of a pre race trade, and manually greened up before the race to crystalise the loss.

The green up was fully matched twice, thus putting me back in worse position that before.

I greened up again, and the "correction" green doubled up again. I had to green up twice more before the trade was finally closed (at a larger loss than should have been).

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Is it a glitch in my pc, my wireless mouse or a betangel/betfair issue?

I would note that sometimes my trades (when I click my mouse) double up eg £10 trade is placed twice.

Thanks

Make sure you open, then close the trade then hedge.

If you open a trade, then hedge. I don't consider that 'proper' trading. You should only hedge as the last action after a series of trades.

thanks Peter, I must admit I have been shortcutting to hedge...I will do it properly in future :) Thanks for your help.

I have also changed my mouse and keyboard, as they have been acting as they were drunk over the last few days!

It's good discipline. If you try to hedge to close, you may not get matched, and it moves past your price, so you hedge again, and it does the opposite, so you hedge again.......

I try and try as many times as I can, within the strategy I'm using and the hedge is the final part.

If you trade £10 at 6.20 for one tick five times, you basically have no risk in the market. But of course, getting five in a row is unlikely, but as you already have profit you will be able to withstand any short term volatility.
