Anyone using the BetAngel VPS ? Which version of Windows server it comes with please?
Thanks
Bet Angel VPS
It depends what version of the VPS you choose.
Unbelievably, the biggest cost of the VPS is actually the Microsoft licence. We always try and stay a few versions behind to reduce the cost because the incremental difference in versions doesn't really make that much difference.
But if you order a recommended or an expert version, you'll get Windows Server 2022.
So can we trial the VPS for a week or 2 to try it out?Euler wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 3:08 pmIt depends what version of the VPS you choose.

they are completely different things.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) reroutes your internet connection to trick websites that you are located elsewhere and/or with an anonymous IP.
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is like having a computer running in the Cloud (a data centre somewhere) that you can control remotely.
So you mean my main Computer ? or Bet Angels Computer as i take my Laptop with me to most places with latest Version of BA and all the set up same as my main Desktopjamesedwards wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 2:55 pmthey are completely different things.

Think of a VPS as you renting a remote computer in a data centre that is always on. You access this computer through your own PC, laptop or phone. You set up and run Bet Angel directly on this remote computer and leave it running 24/7 if you want. Presumably the Bet Angel VPS and software is built to run Bet Angel as efficiently as possible and probably physically sited as close to Betfair servers as possible to minimise latency when triggering bets.Alpha322 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 4:03 pmSo you mean my main Computer ? or Bet Angels Computer as i take my Laptop with me to most places with latest Version of BA and all the set up same as my main Desktopjamesedwards wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 2:55 pmthey are completely different things.
