I've just bought a litre of sunflower oil from Lidl. :D :D

Shall we start the bidding at £80?
Had prior warning on GQT a couple of weeks ago.

They were talking about sunflowers and mentioned who's the worlds largest grower so I put 2 and 2 togther and ....forgot to buy any :)

Vegetable oil is a good enough alternative, but I needed to top up my deep fat fryer and didn't want to mix it up.

Rapeseed oil too is very good. No overbearing flavour and high flashpoint like Sunlfower oil.
Oh crap! Have I just started a panic buy?
No matter we've got loads and long term can produce loads more.
We just need to import some more Ukrainians to help. :-) I think that would be quite easy!

Don't know the background, but a nation like the US running out of baby milk is quite staggering!

Only to stop resellers buying up their stock though. I don't call being limited to two boxes of eggs per visit 'rationed'.

Call it what you like, it must be serious to be on the front page of the Daily Mail on the eve of budget day!

Or perhaps they're too embarrassed to mention the budget after their last budget front page.
