Getting betfair balance

I've got an automation that places thousands of football bets per hour. It will occasionally drain my betfair account balance to zero, and I'm afraid of getting a big bill for transaction charges.

I've got an SV called CURRENTBALANCE that stores "the Balance" for BetAngel that updates every 20 seconds with unlimited. I also have a condition that we shouldnt place any bets if CURRENTBALANCE is less than $50.

However, I don't think it always works. I got a TX bill for a $200 the other day.

This instance is on polling, and there can be thousands of markets in Guardian.

The betfair balance in the bottom right hand of the main window doesnt seem to update regularly either, and can be wrong by thousands of dollars for hours (it updates ok when I click the refresh)

Has anyone seen similar problems / have any solutions?

Thanks Dallas. Yes, a belt-&-suspenders approach is probably best. I do have tx/hour condition in there as well.
