Green All Selections Serious Losses

I am trialing what I thought was showing to be a very promising horse racing strategy. I place 4 £1 SP back bets and will greenup using Green All Selections rule if the green all Profit condition is over an amount. On 2 occasions within hours I have seen losses of £184 and £124. Luckily I was in practice mode. Both races were in AU markets and both involved high SP selections. When I green up I delay 2 secs but will continue greening if the all profit condition is greater than previously. When it did green, it greened up on 2 selections at a time. At a loss to know what I did wrong and this makes me nervous bringing it into live mode because I can't be sure what is causing it. Losing that amount froman original £4 liability is a killer. Anyone had similar experiences?

You appear to be greening multiple times. Have you set a reasonable delay for the trigger times to allow for the in-play delay?

I presume these horses were at big prices?

Thanks for the replies. It should be noted that this is an all automated strategy and I am not pressing any buttons. This all happened whilst I was asleep. I had a rearm delay of 3secs. Yes when these situations occurred they were greening up on very high odds. I am going to delay between greening to 6 and see whether it makes a difference but I am questioning what I am doing wrong because if I don't know then how can I protect myself from happening in the future? The automation has a rule to Green All Selections (any selections) when the green all profit is greater than x. Nothing very unusual about that you wouldn't have thought? Does anyone do it differently? Maybe from what the great man is saying that greening up in play brings with it potential risks that can be eradicated when trading before the off but in play it's a whole different thing.

Try to use with greening when offesetting to close the trade and make sure your closing trade is hedge and no other bets are in the market before attempting another greening position. Or else you will end up with multiple requests and losses.

The inplay delay can easily cause mis-firing if you are 'too tight' on the re-arms.

So just trying to error trap those things to minimise risks.

BA shouldn't send another greening bet from the same rule if there's already one waiting to be acknowledged by maintaining a pending bets queue. It should return a status of "duplicate action pending".

Even non delayed markets have some sort of delay due to comms so trading systems always need to use pending queues to prevent problems when people don't see their transaction confirmed immediately, and then 'hammer the button' which is effectively what Guardian is doing.

We have to give full control the user, we can't limit anything they want to do. Everything has to be at their risk as we don't know what they are trying to do.
