Is there a reasonably reliable way of anticipating the actual off time for races? I have an idea which would involve betting just before the actual off.

I wouldn’t have any liabilities at the time so the consequence of getting it wrong would just be a missed opportunity.

Maybe the last part of your strategy could be to take SP to ensure you exit? That's what I do.

That was the 1980s. In 2023 you can have a damn good guess. ;)

I'm working on it. This is what I've cobbled together so far ;)
All I need to do is get BA up to 87 mph

Not sure, years ago. I'm going to have a chat with them next week about a few things so I'll try to rememeber to ask.

ask them why we can't bet on irish greyhound races.
missing out on a couple of hundred every day.

I was using "going" as an intention to do something not as the act of leaving or departing. A few emails when Cheltenham has calmed down not an office visit.

You could ask them ? If I was missing out on 6 grand a month then I'd be in a tent on their doorstep with pre-prepared speech about why it would be in their interest to do it.
