Hi again all.

I'm having some Contradictory thoughts which I'd like to make sure I understand before I potentially waste 6h of the day :D

So what I want to do is Close my trade once the price of the market reaches X amount of my back bet £ profit.

How do I do this? conditions: Close Trade Profit Condition? with greening?

But all rules must be true for it to fire, so if X hasn't been reached yet it wont fire? so it needs to be less than. But then it will trigger on the first profitable tick?

I've tried reading the guide too, but it still not clear to me what it does as the examples provided are worded more complicated than needed and don't really provide any simple examples.

Anyway what I want to green up the 'whole market' when X amount is reached and then add in another rules where do not place anymore bets since X amounts has been reached

Sorry it seems like a really simple question

Hi all me again. Having looks again on the forum it seems Dallas used:

Yes, create a 'Set/Modify Stored Value' rule to store the selections price

with a 'Stored Value' condition' to test the 'Selections close trade profit at a price with greening' is greater than 3.00
https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/stored_value.html

Then have your 'Close Trade with Greening' rule place the bet at a price 'Held by a Stored Value' (and enter the name of whatever you called the stored value above)

I shall give this a go and report back

I've never used 'close trade' functionality but this is how I guess it would be done.

Should help get you started at least.

Thanks James really appreciate it. Although what you provided me isn't what I'm after, The communication and example you provided me kicked the brain into gear.

All I've done is simply set up an additional Rules column, Set it to fire every refresh (IP Bot 7mins long) and set the rule type to 'close trade on selection with greening'.

Then conditions 'Green All Profit Condition' is set to X amounts for it to close me out of my position.

What a Jefffin idiot :( Sorry guys. cheers James.

Hi again.

So I had a bit of a blunder yesterday. I set to close trade and green up ... However what happened is it fired and as the price moved. placed the closing bet way above and kept trading out for losses after losses. which as you can imagine. SUPER ANNOYING!

It's annoying that you can offset the bet with ticks/ fill and kill etc. but you can offset the trade with a fixed predicted price? is this something that could be added in? it would save so much hassle really lol.

Anyway, does anyone know how I can trade out of my position at a fixed price of profit without it bouncing and changing its postion?

cheers

I soon learnt never to try and trade out in an in-play horse race. The value you get will almost always be terrible.

You often don't get the price or size you ask for in-running as the markets move quickly. (Although the passive bet delay stuff will help with that, if you miss a price then at least your offer appears instantly not a second later when the price is long gone) . That means the bet gets matched but leaves the card with differences so the greening kicks in again. Hedging needs a 'near enough' parameter if you want to stop that behaviour.

The 'knack' is to give yourself enough room to get out before the price is terrible

To be honest that's pretty crap... As I mentioned you can offset with ticks why not also have an expected green up to!?. I don't see why something that simple hasnt been added in tbh... I'm going to calculate the offset bet function and count the ticks I'd roughly expect it to land with a price. That'll be the bets fix. Its not worth faffing around for something that'll not be consistent enough.

You can trade at the stake and price of stored values. So you can effectively ask for any position you like.

And there's a good chance of terrible prices at any time. Lay at 2.5 when something is travelling at evens and that's 20% margin down the drain. That's not great if your opening bets only get 10%.
