The results for each market can be retained for later analysis as detailed in the link above. If your greening up as the majority of traders do it wont matter what won a race its only if your straight betting and have different P/L's on each runner of a market then you will need to refer to a results page to know how your selection performed.
This also needs to be done if trading live markets unless your just looking for a quick overall total for the day and are not bothered about the details of your stratergy/setting.

We have extracted this comment from another thread so it can viewed with clarity.

The post is designed to give you an understanding of how you should write your rules if you aim is to do many things all at once across a number of markets.
Say you have Guardian refreshing at 1 market per second and you've got it cycling round ten markets, then you are retrieving new price information for each market once every ten seconds.

The automation rules are tested each time new prices are retrieved from betfair (to ensure the triggers are based on current price transfers reims information), so for this example you should allow each rule to stay active for at least ten seconds (probably 15 seconds to be on the safe side).

If you've got 30 markets loaded into Guardian (with a one second refresh), then you'll be getting new prices for each market once every 30 seconds, so you should increase the time the rules stay active accordingly.

If you are not trading manually with the Bet Angel trading screens, you could afford to increase Guardian's refresh rate and still stay within betfair's 20 calls per second data request charging threshold. Obviously if you're refreshing Guardian every 500ms, you'll cycle round 30 markets in 15 seconds.
Hello, thank you for sharing :)

Is there a way of limiting the number of markets being scanned, e.g. if you are auto trading all the dogs for one day can you load up all the races and tell BA to only scan for updates on the next five, replacing the suspended markets as they finish with the next unscanned market (If you see what I mean :D ) milliseconds do count on such fast moving markets 8-)

I haven't got BA open at the moment, Niko (so can't say exactly), but there's an option on one of the tabs in Guardian to limit the updating of markets to the next XXX seconds (ie set it to 600 to update only the markets starting in the next 10 mins).

UPDATE: it's on the 'advanced' tab - "restrict refresh".

Need help.

I put four tennis markets in guardian with 'back the server' bot file. those four markets starting time was same. Now, bot file is only working on one tennis market, the market which went in-play first. not on other three markets.

is this work like that or am i not doing something right?

Thanks.

I know this is a bump on an old thread but I'm hoping to get some help

I've been trying out an automation strategy that involves betting on the win AND place markets for dogs and horses, but it seems to be that today my automation will only place the bets on one of the two markets (usually only on the win market but sometimes only on the place market.). Occasionally it will trigger for both markets, but I'm not finding it reliable. I didn't have this issue yesterday or the previous days I tried it out.

Any ideas? I'm so frustrated right now

Wanted to mention as well I've learned a ton from this forum and guys like Peter/Dallas (and others) are completely awesome.
